The Gadfly Project
Gadfly is an independent, student-run journal dedicated to political commentary that challenges, questions, and provokes.
We started Gadfly out of a frustration with the current state of political discourse — not because it is too complex, but because it has become too predictable. Too often, commentary serves less to explore ideas than to signal alignment with them. We believe politics deserves better.
Our Mission
Our aim is simple: to create a space for genuine thinking. That means engaging seriously with ideas, questioning assumptions, and resisting the pressures that turn writing into repetition or consensus-building.
We are not here to tell readers what to think. We are here to encourage them to think more critically.
The Context
Gadfly reflects a generation navigating a rapidly changing political landscape. From international conflict to democratic strain to cultural fragmentation, the issues we face are complex and often uncomfortable.
We believe they require honest, rigorous, and open conversation.
Who We Are
We are students. We are Gen-Z. We question, we challenge, and we debate.
Join the Dialogue
If you are looking for certainty, this is not the place.
If you are willing to question, challenge, and think — welcome.
